Calendar of Upcoming Gigs and History of Appearances

Oak Ash & Thorn are no longer performing live.

Thanks, thank you, and thanks again for all the years...the generations even...of shared song and merriment.

You can still hear us through our recordings, available on CD Baby and our Webshop on this site.

Saturday 19 February - 7-10pm
OAT with** Beltain! •
High Street Station Coffeehouse
Corner of High and Encinal, Alameda
Capacity: 60
Admission: $12 at the door.

Join us for a double bill with our old friends Susan (Morgan) and Mikkel McDow and their band of reknown: Beltain. We'll be starting to whip up steam for the vernal equinox with an eclectic mosh of our usual ur-trad elk calls and Beltain's archetype soup of Early Music, EngTrad, and original Western balladry in a tasty instrumental backdrop of guitar, mandolin, squeezbox, bag and pan pipes!

**We had to withdraw, alas from this promising gig. See the What's New page for more.

Saturday 18 September - 8pm
Freight & Salvage Coffee House, Berkeley, CA
1111 Addison St, Berkeley, California
Capacity: 400

We'll be joining Shay Black for his Big Six-Omygod birthday onstage at the new Freight & Salvage in Berkeley as part of a kaleidoscopic display of local and international trad-music talent: including the Black Brothers, the Solstice Ensemble of the California Revels, Mary Black, Shira Kammen, In Harmony's Way, Dogwatch, Peter Kasin and a host other Bay Area trad stalwarts. Shay has become a staunch pillar of local traditional music scene over the last 2 decades years...just as he was in Liverpool before he came West--and we are proud to be asked to shuffle onstage to help him celebrate his coming-of-aging. It promises to be an amazing night, don't miss this ticket. Proceeds will go to the non-profit where Shay counsels and manages resources for at risk and transitional families: Family Paths, Inc of Oakland.

Friday 24 September - 7 to 9pm
High Street Station Coffeehouse
Corner of High and Encinal, Alameda
Capacity: 60
Admission: Sliding scale, $5-15

This is a lovely new venue with a stimulating past--it started out as a light rail station hotel and quickly graduated to an elegant bordello. Now alas, the most stimulating thing on the menu is a triple latte--but we're told they may have a liquor license by the time we open there!

We're counting on your help us to brush off the old repertoire, and test drive a few new additions to the OAT cannon, so pop in your best set of lungs and come on out to help us bellow and snort back into form. It's been far too long since we've seen you all.
